ABOUT

I’ve spent most of my career as a visual artist in the advertising industry, as both art director/designer and commercial photographer. In this capacity, I’ve been exposed to more art & illustration, film, animation, design, music and pretty much all other forms of creativity than ever imagined possible. This is the life I breathe, and it’s shaped me in so many ways from honing my eye and developing craft, to taste levels, adopting philosophies, critical thinking and beyond. Along the way I’ve been inspired and encouraged to venture into my own visual ways of communicating. My creative curiosities have me wanting to do it all, and I often try various things with varying degrees of both satisfaction and frustration. I keep coming back to my art for sustenance, growth and a space to discover more about myself. It’s mental medicine. It’s spiritual awakening. It’s physical presence. I’m excited to see where my practice takes me in this life. Or where I take it.

My fascination with art and illustration began with early story books, but developed more in earnest with the psychedelic poster and album art of the 60’s and 70’s, with its fluid typography and intricate details. From there it ignited further when I discovered surrealism and sci-fi art. Other movements include Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Cubism, Modern Art, Constructivism, gig poster art and great design of all forms. The influences are infinite. I suppose my curation of thoughts, ideas and subject matter are subconsciously extracted from the above and thrown into a blender like some mutant AI creation. I’m still trying to figure out what it all means.

My artwork lives in the gallery and exhibition spaces, though I’m wide open to commissions and collaborations. If something sparks please reach out, I’m happy to hear from you.
